Claudia Veronica Straughn passed away on January 10, 2024, in Plantation, Florida at the age of 98. Born in Buxton Village, Guyana. Claudia Veronica came from a family of twelve, six brothers and five sisters. Her parents were Francis Gravesande “ her beloved mama” and Henry Rambaron. 

In the Fall of 1969, Claudia migrated to the United States with her husband and six children where they resided in Chevy Chase, Maryland.  

Claudia was a people person and upon arriving to the United States worked in sales at Lord and Taylor for many years. She loved clothes, fashion, and jewelry. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening and reading.

Claudia will be forever remembered by her six children, Sheryl, Saverna, Barbara, Wayne, Clyde, and Trevor.  She will be fondly remembered by her seven grandchildren Natasha, Shawna, Michelle, Samantha, Jason, Alex and Kristan, and her great grandchildren Jaime, Paislee, Alexandria, and Ava.

We are forever grateful for the years we had with Claudia and the love that she shared with all who entered her life. She will be greatly missed.
