Plantation

Charles “Chuck” Sobolewski, born on December 30, 1938, in Freeport, Pennsylvania, departed this world on April 9, 2025, in Plantation, Florida, leaving a legacy shimmering with love, family devotion, and professional fortitude. He lived a life enriched by experiences and relationships that spanned the realms of both his personal and professional endeavors, echoing the essence of a man who embraced every moment.

A proud veteran of the United States Army's 25th Infantry, he began his remarkable journey in life with values instilled during service. In 1961, he began his professional career at Citizens General Hospital, where fate led him to meet the love of his life, Karen. The journey that followed saw him traverse various cities across the United States—from Pittsburgh to Willingboro, NJ, from Miami to Houston, and ultimately Los Angeles and Upper Saddle River, NJ—before settling in Plantation, Florida, in 1977. During this time, he worked tirelessly in the medical sales industry up until 1980 when he embarked on an entrepreneurial path by founding Invitro Exports, a company dedicated to the sale of medical products across Switzerland, Italy, and the Middle East.

In 1990, Chuck founded Micro Typing Systems, a pioneer in manufacturing cutting-edge blood bank technology, marking a high point in his illustrious career. His contributions to the medical field inspired many, and he continued to influence and mentor others until his retirement in 2002 upon selling the company to Johnson and Johnson.

Chuck’s heart, however, lay with his family. He cherished the moments spent with his beloved grandchildren, reveling in their laughter and joys. His nurturing spirit extended beyond the familial bonds of his wife of 61 years, Karen, his children Kristen Lahman (Jason), Kevin Sobolewski, and Kirk Sobolewski (Shannon), and his distinguished grandchildren Katherine Sobolewski, Madison Hood (Taylor), Stephanie Sobolewski, Skye Summers, Bailey Sobolewski, Trenton Sobolewski, Kaden Sobolewski, Blaize Lahman, Broden Sobolewski, and Baylor Sobolewski, along with his great grandson Declan Hood. Chuck was a father figure to many, keenly providing encouragement and wise counsel, always treating those he employed as extensions of his family.

An avid lover of nature, he found peace in simple pleasures such as hunting and fishing, displaying a tender affinity for the outdoors, which included feeding the birds from the comfort of his front porch. His passions also encompassed collecting stamps, coins, gemstones, microscopes and model trains, exhibits of his diverse interests that shaped his personal landscape.

Chuck was proud of his accomplishments, particularly his achievement of becoming an Eagle Scout during his youth alongside his brother Gene, whose memory remains cherished in the hearts of those who knew them.

Regrettably, he now joins his father Charles Sobolewski, his mother Pauline Sobolewski, and his brother Gene Sobolewski in eternal rest.

In remembrance of Chuck, family and friends are invited to gather at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home in Plantation, Florida, for a visitation on Sunday April 27, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A Mass celebrating his life will be held at Saint Gregory The Great Catholic Church the following day, April 28, at 11:30 AM, with interment to follow at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth.

In reflecting upon his life, we find solace in the understanding that Chuck’s spirit will endure through the lives he touched and the memories shared among his loved ones—a testament to a life lived with unwavering love, compassion, and an indomitable spirit.
