Charles Joseph Conlon, Jr. “Joe”, 79, passed away Nov. 16, 2020 at his home in Plantation, Florida.
He was born in Newark, New Jersey on Dec. 10, 1940 to Charles and Kathlyn Conlon. He was a proud and highly decorated Naval Aviator in the U.S. Marine Corps serving more than 6 tours in Vietnam. He continued his professional career as a commercial airline pilot, flying for several airlines including Saudia Airlines in Saudi Arabia, Gulf Air in Bahrain, and later, Spirit Airlines in New Jersey and Florida, where he retired as a flight instructor.
Joe is survived by his wife Linda, his daughter Anna Aguilar, his son Michael Conlon, his sister Kathy Pignio, his son in law Michael Aguilar, 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Robert Conlon and Joyce Kenny, and his granddaughter Taylor.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Nov. 23, 2020 from 10:00- 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at 1:30 PM at South Florida National Cemetery.
