Catherine Alexandra Fillichio

It is with great sadness that we share the news of a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, Catherine A. Fillichio’s untimely death, August 5, 2022.
Cathy was born April 4,1943, to her predeceased parents, John and Theresa Vigna in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up on the west side of Chicago known as the “life of the party” playing her guitar and entertaining her family and friends with her magnetic personality. In 1975, Cathy and Tony, along with their children Lisa, Ben and Kimi, moved to Plantation, Florida where they began to build their forever friendships. Cathy was a mother
known for her vivacity, especially towards her children. She loved and touched her friends like no other and served as a model citizen giving of herself in a multitude of ways to her community. Cathy’s true legacy is her commitment to and fierce love for her family. Her husband, children and
grandchildren were her “everything,” and she was theirs. She is survived by her loving husband Tony, son Ben, daughters Lisa Donahue (Fillichio), Kim LePre (Fillichio), sons-in-law David Donahue and Dan LePre, sister Barbara Rocha, brother John Vigna, and four incredible grandchildren, Blaine, Dean, Beau and Megan. She has now joined her son Todd, her brother Joe and grandson Michael Jon in the glories of Heaven.
A memorial mass will be held Friday October 21, 2022, at 4 p.m. at Assumption Catholic Church - 2001 South
Ocean Boulevard, Lauderdale by the Sea, Florida 33062 (https://assumptionlauderdale.org/) and a celebration
of life directly following at Sea Ranch Lakes Beach Club - 5300 North Ocean Boulevard, Sea Ranch Lakes,
Florida 33308
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research hospital (Cathy’s most cherished
foundation)
