Barrington N. Edwards, age 89, of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026.

Born on August 18, 1936, in Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica, West Indies, Barrington was the beloved son of Charles and Marian Edwards. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose love for his family was evident throughout his life.

After immigrating to the United States, Barrington made his home in New York City, where he owned and operated a taxi business for many years. He later settled in Naples, Florida. He also enjoyed landscaping and caring for his pet goats.

Barrington shared more than 60 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mervis Edwards. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Olivine Cumberbatch of New Jersey and Cheryl Steele of Montana; his son, Noel McEachern of North Carolina; his two surviving siblings, Kenneth Edwards and Hyacinth Neil of the United Kingdom; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.

Barrington will be remembered for his hard work, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to his family.

May he rest in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
