Arthur Losenbeck, age 79, unexpectedly passed away on January 29, 2026. He was born and raised in Miami (Opa-Locka), Florida. Arthur graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree in geology, a love of geology remained with him throughout his life.
Arthur inherited a green thumb from his mother and especially loved his orchids, which consistently surrounded him and brought him great joy
He dutifully served in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He went on to run a highly successful business, Fleet Lubrication, for 42 years in Opa-Locka, Fl. Arthur lived in Sunshine Ranches for 44 years before retiring to his vacation home in Big Pine Key, FL, where he loved boating and fishing. After retiring, he developed his talents as an artist, combining his love of nature with his mineral collection to create beautiful artwork for people to enjoy.
He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Helmut Losenbeck, mother Gladys Mae Daniel Losenbeck, brother Richard Losenbeck and sister Elizabeth Losenbeck Hemenway. Arthur is survived by his loving wife Joyce Ann Sullenberger Losenbeck, sons Gregory Todd Losenbeck (Jonell) and Richard Patrick Losenbeck and beloved sister, Jeanette Losenbeck Drake (Mike); nephews Michael Richard Losenbeck (Lori) and Mark Helmut Losenbeck (Sila); nieces Valerie Hemenway, Jennifer Hoppe (Paul), Linda Foster (Darrell) and Brigitte Foster (Kenny) along with numerous grand nieces, nephews and all the kids who called him “Pops.”
Arthur amassed many friends over the years and always made them feel like family.
