John Cicione

May 27, 1920 — February 13, 2015

John Cicione, 94, of Plantation, Florida, passed away February 13, 2015, with his loving family by his side. Our father was born on May 27, 1920, in Brockton, MA, to Frank and Frances (Caruso) Cicione. Dad married our mother, Gilda T. Cicione (Gatto) on June 26, 1949, and together they celebrated over 65 years of marriage. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene, Joseph, Frank and Constantino, and his sisters, Rose Tropea and Frances Centrella. His brothers-in-law Mario Gatto, and Dave Tropea, and his sister-in-law, Patricia Cicione, survive him. Our father had a blessed life with all his family and friends. He was devoted to his loving and amazing caretaker, and wife Jill, who in the later years took care of him through good, and bad days. As sons, we cannot thank her enough. His three boys were his life. Our wives, children, and grandchildren, loved and praised him to his last days, and will all have the greatest memories of this very special man. Our dad provided for us kids all the time. We never went without what we needed. He worked in his younger years in the shoe factories in Brockton, MA, and also had his own Leather Supply Company. His next move was Real Estate, and with his brothers, they represented Campanelli Brothers, selling homes in MA. In 1973, he moved his family to Fort Lauderdale, and with his brothers, continued in Real Estate with Campanelli’s until he retired. Dad was retired for 30 years, and during his retirement, he devoted his time to always being there for our needs; from picking the grandchildren up from school to attending a sporting event, he was always there. Our father is survived by his loving wife, Gilda T. Cicione, of 65 + years; three sons, Jack (Karen) Cicione, Richard (Miriam) Cicione, and Steven (Mary) Cicione; nine grandchildren, Jillian (Tony) Latorre, Shelia Allen, Lisa (Jeff) Ewing, Gina (Sam) Gomez, Ricky (Natalie) Cicione, Steve (Rebecca) Cicione, Vinnie Cicione, Missy Cicione, and Serena Cicione; ten great-grandchildren, Toni, Krystal, Kevin, Zachary, Briana, Joshua, Ryan, Anthony, Calvin, and Isabella. Dad also leaves many loving family and friends in the New England area and Florida. Visitation will be Monday, from 5:00PM-8:00PM with a Prayer Service, at T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home. Because of their assistance to Serena, his granddaughter, the family requests memorials be made in his loving memory to “Make A Wish Foundation”. We would like to thank Vitas Team 148, for everything they have done for our family for over two years to make him comfortable and safe.
