Nicholas Joseph Costea

Costea, Deacon Nicholas 93 of Tamarac entered eternal life on Dec. 6, 2014. Deacon Nick was ordained a Deacon in 1988,serving at St. Malachy Catholic Church. Deacon Nick was born in Minerva Ohio To George and Victoria (nee Pupa) on June 16, 1921. He was a veteran of the US Army achieving the rank of Sgt. He served in England during WWII. He was married to his beloved wife Tillie in 1948, who preceded him in death. His family moved from Minerva, to Cleveland then to South Florida. He worked thru his professional life as a typesetter in the newspaper and printing industry. He worked with the Romanian American Paper, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and the Ft Lauderdale News, now known as the Sun Sentinel. He was a 3rd order Dominican, and was with the Knights of Columbus for over 65 years. He had been a parishioner of Little Flower in Hollywood, and then St. Malachy. He was ordained in 1988 as a Deacon. He was especially close to his neice Victoria Turco who was so close to him during his later years. He is survived by his brother John Costea, special niece Victoria “Vicki” (Steven) Turcu, niece Vicky Grandstaff, and nephew Johnny (Debbie) Costea, several other grandnieces and nephews, his loving church and religious family. Visitation will be held at St. Malachy Catholic Church on Thursday from 7:00-8:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In his memory donations may be made to St. Malachy Catholic Church. Arrangements entrusted to T.M.
