Hilde Ebert Messmer

June 8, 1935 — May 19, 2014

Messmer, Hilde Ebert of Plantation, FL was born in Brooklyn, NY to Frank and Pauline Ebert. She married Bertram Charles Messmer, and together they raised two children Glenn and Linda, and was a proud grandmother. Hilde worked for many years with the Broward County School Board as an administrative assistant. She was active in numerous community organizations, including the Plantation Women’s Club, Plantation Historical Society, and the Friends of the Helen B. Hoffman Library. She enjoyed writing and for many years wrote for the community papers, including the Community News, and the Sun Sentinel. She was cared for during her final days by her family and Catholic Hospice at her home. Friends will be received on Thursday at the T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home 7001 NW 4 Street from 10:30 until the service time. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at South Florida National Cemetery 6501 S. State Road 7 Lake Worth, FL. In her memory donations may be made to Catholic Hospice or an organization that she participated in.
