Edward Martin Mullin September 25, 1917 – March 12, 2014  Edward Martin Mullin, 96, was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 25, 1917 to James and Helen Mullin. He passed away peacefully in his home on March 12, 2014. After serving five years in the US Army Air Force, Edward received the Distinguished Flying Cross Award for his heroism and service in completing 30 combat missions as a B-17 bombardier, 8th AF England. Upon returning from the war, he became a special agent for the FBI and later joined the CIA for 11 years in Washington, DC. His career led him to the Department of Justice where he worked on the Strike Force and became Chief of Intelligence and Organized crime in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous drugs until his retirement in 1970. He retired from the Air Force Reserve at the rank of Lt. Colonel. From 1971-1983, Edward worked for Internal Intelligence, Inc., where he became Vice President of Intertel, Inc., a subsidiary of Resorts International, Inc. for Hotels and Security in the Bahamas and Atlantic City, NJ, until he retired. On January 29, 1949 he married Virginia Joanne Mullaly. They were married for 64 years until Virginia’s death in June 2013. Edward is survived by his five children, Diane Ames (Richard) of Weston, FL, Kevin Mullin (Julie) of Evergreen, CO, Suzanne Cowley (Dr. Michael) of Richmond, VA, Kerry Mullin of Leesburg, VA, and Brian Mullin (Stephanie) of State College, PA; 15 grandchildren, Alyson, Michael, Christie, Laura, Michael, Jennifer, Brian, Gregory, Kelly, Bridget, Erin, Matthew, Kathryn, Meghan, and Shannon, and three great grandchildren, Brady, William, and Victoria. Edward and his wife, Virginia, will be laid to rest together at Arlington National Cemetery. A memorial mass will be held at 11am on March 21, 2013 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church,1301 Southwest 136 Avenue Davie, FL. 33325 In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edward’s name can be made to www.catholichospice.org.   Cremation arrangements by T.M.
