Anne Marie Rutledge Zidar

Ann Marie Rutledge Zidar passed away Feb. 6, 2014 in St Augustine, FL. She was born: March 7, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio. Ann had resided in St. Augustine for the last 20 years, moving her from Plantation, FL in 1994. Her family and faith meant everything to her. She was a devoted mother and 'Granny' and a devout member of Saint Anastasia Catholic Church as well as St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Plantation,FL.Ann grew up in Maple Heights, Ohio where she met and married the love of her life, Frank J. Zidar, after his service in WWII with the United States Marne Corps, 3rd Division, in Guam, Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal.They moved to Miami, Fla., in 1952 and settled in Ft. Lauderdale where they raised their three children. Ann also worked for many years as a teacher's aide with Tropical Elementary. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Frank J. Zidar, and her granddaughter, Heather Zidar. She is survived by sons, Mark Zidar, Matt Zidar and his wife, Debbie, and daughter, Kathy Pyle and her husband, Greg. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Chris Zidar (Darcy), Katie Zidar Colt (Jeremie), Amy Fitzgerald (Matt), Andrew Zidar (Amy), Mike Pyle, and Molly Pyle and her 9 great-grandchildren, Mia, Dylan, Ashley, Jake, Griffin, Emerson, Delaney, Olivia, and Emma Kate. Flowers are welcomed but for those who may choose donations may be made to The Make a Wish Foundation in memory of her granddaughter, Heather. Visitation will be held Saturday at the T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home from 9:00 AM-9:45AM. Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be held at St. Gregory at 10:00AM, Urn Commital will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
